At the first Walk on AiR Festival, the artists-in-residence open their rehearsal stages, idea labs, and theatrical utopias. Experience performances, video installations, sketches, and glimpses of what will continue to grow at Acker Stadt Palast in 2026. For us, Walk on AiR represents an open space for questions and experiments that shape all artistic practice. Ultimately, it's about the art of creating art in difficult times.

19:00 Anete Colacioppo // Gewalt // Video Installation
"Violence" is a dance theater installation based on Slavoj Žižek's concept of objective violence and inspired by the work of Nadia Kaabi-Linke and Philipp Lachenmann. The artists Anete Colacioppo, Geraldo Si, René Knightbusch, Marcelo Schmittner, and Michael Moser challenge the audience's perception and make this invisible form of violence tangible. In this version, the performance is transformed into a video installation in which the audience is placed at the center of the action.

Bodies.Digital, Howool Baek and Matthias Erian presents a work-in-progress showing using the live visual coding tool Hydra. This showing focuses on states of becoming and digital corporeality revealed through sound interaction.

"If a person wants to climb a mountain, they can't take their refrigerator, their bicycle, and their house with them." Ailton Krenak, a Brazilian philosopher and writer, talks about all the materials we accumulate and carry around in our lives. This piece offers a reflection on everything we carry with us and what we think about.

21:00 Biliana Voutchkova (featuring Jessika Kenney) // Dreams with a wide angle // Performance
Dreams with a wide angle is a research project initiated for the residency at Ackerstadt Palast. Researching through a library of recorded dreams collected since 2020, the artist shares the dreams with guests, and they move through various practices. These practices are rooted in intuitive response and include movement, automatic writing, musical sessions with instruments or voice - materials for a future multidisciplinary work that may take the shape of a performance, installation or a long-durational format. This night, some thoughts and short performative interventions of this process will be shared with the audience.
