At the first Walk on AiR Festival, the artists-in-residence open their rehearsal stages, idea labs, and theatrical utopias. Experience performances, video installations, sketches, and glimpses of what will continue to grow at Acker Stadt Palast in 2026. For us, Walk on AiR represents an open space for questions and experiments that shape all artistic practice. Ultimately, it's about the art of creating art in difficult times.

19:00 Michael Vorfeld // SILHOUETTE // Film
A film by Michael Vorfeld (black and white, digital)
The interplay of light, sound, body, and space creates a film with surprising perceptual phenomena, full of atmospheric density and sensual intensity. Working with various electrical light sources, the performer is accompanied by an electroacoustic soundtrack generated by the use of various incandescent lamps and electrical switching elements.

19:15 Rafucko // Ja! wir haben Bananen // Performance
Artivist Rafucko embodies the figure of those who unsettle authority and expose the absurdity of rules that govern collective life. A performance that oscillates between the haunting presence of historical ghosts and imaginative projections of a future worth living, Rafucko uses satire as a tool of resistance and possibility. The work was developed in dialogue with MXM’s sculptural use of light and sound.

20:00 Sam Tiussi // Interference // Sound Performance
Interference unfolds like a disturbed signal, where fragile resonance, mechanical repetition, and distorted glass textures begin to slip out of alignment. Rooted in the pressure of perfection and the fear of error inherited from classical music, it embraces intentional mistakes as openings: small fractures where sound becomes unstable, porous, alive. Through the machine-played Toy Glass Piano, live electronics, and glass recordings, the piece drifts between repetition and rupture, where interference becomes expression and error opens another way of listening.

21:00 Syntax Schwarz // The New Old // Performance
The New Old an installative performance navigating between analogue and digital eras through oscilloscope, slide projection and live camera transmissions. Blending historical and technological timelines, it reflects on exploration from 15th century seafarers to modern astronauts and invites audiences to question where we are heading.
