Physical theatre performance without words
People with hearing impairments and those who do not speak German well, since the performance is non-verbal.
«The story of an ear that pretended to be deaf» is an interdisciplinary project that combines elements of theatre, contemporary dance, and costume design. The performance explores the theme of hearing as a central tool for human interaction — both with society and with oneself.
No one truly listens to others; everyone hears only themselves — and even that not fully. We hear only what we want to hear.
All of this is presented in an ironic form: ears become purely decorative elements on the head, as they often fail to fulfil their original function.
In addition to the theme of hearing, the performance also addresses selective deafness and the indifference that comes with it.
