A part of something, incomplete by nature, "Scope" is the journey of a particle in search to become complete. It´s like the fish that swims in the ocean asking for the ocean? Saying that THIS is not the ocean, it´s just wa-ter. The solo explores our nature of searching our other half, halves, but es-sentially not being enough alone, by ourselves, where the need of sharing our path with someone else having it as a witness to our history and a pillow to share the night. A practical romantic story between a half and a stranger where the tension is created by the almost, by the opening of doors, one unique moment at a time. A journey without destination because the possibilities of a half are never closed by being something.

Scope is the new creation by Luso-brazilian choreographer Ricardo Ambrózio. Thematically this work will focus on the action of judgement at first sight. When did we judge a person, or situation at first glance without taking time to fully understand? How did that judgement create a snowball effect which change our lives or the lives of others? Ricardo will explore the fear, hope, shame and regret associated with our own judgements. The work will adventure through scenes offering a first glance at a situation, offering the audience the chance to judge at first sight and to be ever surprised by how the scenes progress. Ricardo’s choreographic style is very physical with an artistic language rooted in highly animalistic contemporary dance and striking scenography.
