Which languages do Berlin authors write in? The city-wide reading series PARATAXE regularly invites authors based in Berlin who write their stories, poems and novels in languages other than German. The locations of these readings are spread over the entire city and invite their audience to listen to exciting and enticing discussions, translations and literary presentations. On October 1 st , 2021, we invite you to our 5th annual edition of the PARATAXE presentation with authors Carla Bessa and William Cody Maher at the Acker Stadt Palast, an evening in German, Englisch and Portuguese (with translations into German), moderated by Martin Jankowski.

The stadtsprachen magazin and the Berliner Literarische Aktion have been organising the PARATAXE series since 2017 with regular city-wide events, readings and symposia to explore the history and present of Berlin's multilingual literatures together with committed partners.
