faSing / BAM! / Berliner Festival für aktuelles Musiktheater 2022

The brief elbow contact - a pushing on and immediately pushing off again - became our greeting when we rarely met in person beyond the computer screen. Fear of contact beyond the digital safety zone has hardly left us completely since.

"faSing" depicts the unstable situation of a woman in the disembodied multiverse of the digital world, a person between imagination space and echo chamber, between self-discovery and loss of reality, opportunities thus and dangers.

Like others from the international scene who make Berlin the center of their work, Katia Guedes belongs to the local scene of independent music theater. Together with the multimedia artist Lucas Bambozzi, who, like her, comes from São Paulo, Brazil, both find their way back into the physical world of the theater space from the joint work of their previous film "pierSing". As a collaborative project, "faSing" follows an idea that understands hearing and seeing as equally intertwined. Visual and sonic composition play seamlessly into each other and were created together in mutual coordination.

Duration: about 60 Min.

BAM!, the festival of the independent Berlin music theater scene, is back!

With its packed program, the third festival edition demonstrates the scene's unbroken will in difficult times; many of the projects reflect the confrontation with the crisis situation of the last two years.

In addition to premieres, revivals and installations, the festival will also feature a film program presenting digital works created during the pandemic. After bridging the gap to the Dutch scene in 2019, guest performances from Switzerland are invited this year.

Venues are, in addition to Acker Stadt Palast, Volksbühne as well as the Babylon cinema on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, Villa Elisabeth and Ballhaus Ost.

Program at Acker Stadt Palast:

07./ 08. April 2022 - faSing / Katia Guedes / Lucas Bambozzi (Uraufführung)

09./ 10. April 2022 - Revox / Collectif Barbare (CH)

BAM! Berliner Festival für aktuelles Musiktheater 2022 is supported by the Hauptstadtkulturfonds, the Rudolf Augstein Foundation and Pro Helvetia.
