Eu Mulher

A dance performance by and with Gaya Dandara

Language: English and Portuguese

The work ‘Eu Mulher’ / Me Woman, is a performance of a ritualistic nature, the result of 10
years of research into my Being ‘Me-woman’.
The performance ‘Eu Mulher’ is an investigation divided into 9 dance scenes, in which I
paint archetypes and themes involving the female body in public and private spaces through
my dance. The performance evokes the ancestral feminine energy, and is a process in
eternal becoming, which matures in becoming, like the phases of a woman's body.
The ‘Eu Mulher’ process is a journey and celebration of the sacred feminine, it is a space of
eternal wisdom and transformation of oneself, the world and its creatures, even the darkest
ones. ‘Eu Mulher’, me woman’s body space of eternal wisdom and transformation weaving
its web becoming a path of catharsis.
