DIE VERGÄNGLICHKEIT DER GÄNSEBLÜMCHEN & EQUINOX / Marion Sparber

Marion Sparber /

Die Vergänglichkeit der Gänseblümchen / dance theatre with live music and video projection

20 min, in English and Spanish

The dance-theatre piece combines several art forms with each other: Video art, painting, music and dance merge and illuminate the symbolic motifs of the mexican painter Frida Kahlo, who colourfully brought her life and fate to paper. The exchange of the artist's suffering and the associated integration of this condition into her work, as well as the choreographer's autobiographical background on the subject, are the focus of the work.

The video projection of Projeto Solo creates surreal paintings live on stage and is accompanied by the abstract sounds of musician Arash Khodayari. Dynamic, distorted, dreamy and playful - the contours between body and painting blur and invite you on an atmospheric journey into the subconscious.

EQUINOX / Dance with live music and sound art

45 min, in English

Like the Equinox, opposites are natural. As dancers, movement is a common language and opens the communication across borders. Nevertheless, there are cultural, political, philosophical, emotional and intellectual differences.

This results in a differentiated perception that shows a threshold of understanding.

The physical partner work becomes work craft and body poetry of this metaphor of opposites and poles, which carries a deep expressiveness within itself, which is sought in this piece. In this sense, the elaboration raises the following questions: What divides us, what connects us? How do we define ourselves and how do we perceive others? What is the influence over the other's gaze? There is no darkness without light.
